Privacy Policy for Shiny Tracker

Effective date: August 12, 2026
Last updated: September 8, 2026

Shiny Tracker is a manual tracking and record-keeping app. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use version 1.0 of the app.

1. Summary

Shiny Tracker does not use third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. Core records are stored on your device. Optional Apple services are used only when you choose the related feature: Sign in with Apple for sign-in status, private iCloud/CloudKit storage for eligible synchronization, and StoreKit for purchases and purchase restoration.

2. Information stored on your device

The app may store target names, encounter counts, start and completion dates, update timestamps, language and theme preferences, purchase entitlement state, and an Apple-provided user identifier used to maintain sign-in status. This information is stored in the app’s local storage on your device.

You can use the core local tracking features without signing in to a separate Shiny Tracker account.

3. Photos

If you choose a target image or a custom app background, the app uses Apple’s system photo picker so you can select the image yourself. Selected images are processed and stored locally in the app’s container. Shiny Tracker does not upload selected photos to the developer or to CloudKit.

You can remove a custom background in the app. You can remove a target image by editing or deleting the related record. When signed in, you can also use Me > Account > Delete Account to delete all Shiny Tracker records and images from the device as part of the complete account-and-data deletion flow.

4. Sign in with Apple

Sign in with Apple is optional and is used to maintain sign-in status for features that rely on Apple services. Version 1.0 stores the Apple-provided user identifier locally on your device. The app does not request your name or email address for this sign-in flow and does not send the identifier to a developer-operated account server.

You may sign out within the app. When signed in, you may initiate permanent deletion from Me > Account > Delete Account. After Shiny Tracker deletes the app-related data and returns to a signed-out state, you may separately revoke Sign in with Apple access through your Apple Account settings. Shiny Tracker cannot delete your Apple Account itself.

5. Private iCloud and CloudKit synchronization

When eligible synchronization is enabled and iCloud is available, the app may store target names, counts, start dates, completion dates, and update timestamps in your private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account. Selected images are not included in this synchronization.

The developer does not operate a separate synchronization server and does not use private CloudKit records for advertising, analytics, or profiling. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple’s terms and privacy policies.

If iCloud is unavailable, the app keeps local data on your device. To remove a synchronized record, delete it in the app while signed in and allow the app to synchronize. To permanently delete the account connection and all Shiny Tracker data, use the in-app Delete Account flow while iCloud is available. The app first deletes all Shiny Tracker records from your private CloudKit database; only after that succeeds does it delete local records, images, personalization data, and the locally stored Apple user identifier. If the cloud request fails, local data and sign-in state are retained so you can retry.

6. Purchases and StoreKit

Shiny Tracker uses Apple StoreKit to display products, process purchases, verify entitlements, and restore purchases. Apple processes payment and billing information. The developer does not receive your payment card details.

The app may create and store a random account token on your device and provide it to StoreKit when you start a purchase. It is used only to associate the app’s purchase flow with the verified Apple transaction and is not used for advertising or tracking.

Deleting a Shiny Tracker account clears this locally stored app account token, but it does not cancel, refund, or erase a purchase recorded by Apple. A valid Solo Lifetime purchase remains associated with the Apple Account used for the transaction and can be restored through StoreKit.

7. Support emails

If you choose to contact support, your email provider sends the address, message, attachments, and any diagnostic details that you decide to include. Support information is used only to reply, investigate the issue, prevent abuse, and maintain an appropriate support record. It is not sold or used for advertising.

Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or to meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of a support conversation by contacting the address below, subject to any record we must retain by law.

8. Data sharing

Shiny Tracker does not sell personal information. Version 1.0 does not share app usage data with advertising networks or analytics providers. Information is processed by Apple when you use Sign in with Apple, iCloud/CloudKit, StoreKit, or other system services, and by your email provider when you contact support.

9. Children

Shiny Tracker is not directed to children and is not offered in the App Store Kids Category. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated service. If you believe a child has sent personal information in a support message, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

10. Security

Shiny Tracker limits information handling to what is needed for the selected features and relies on Apple platform protections for the app sandbox, Sign in with Apple, iCloud/CloudKit, and StoreKit. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Your choices and deletion

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when app features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted at the public Privacy Policy URL with a revised “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how information is handled, the app and App Store privacy disclosures will be updated as appropriate.
